Hiroshima Castle was built by Terumoto Mori in 1589. The castle was called “Koi Castle,” and the castle tower and other castle buildings survived until 1945, when the castle tower was completely destroyed by the atomic bomb.
The castle tower and other castle buildings were reconstructed after 1958, and the castle is now a history museum that mainly introduces samurai culture.
