The Takehara/Mihara area is famous for its streets with latticed windows and stick-tile roofs, and Okunojima, the sacred island of rabbits in the Seto Inland Sea. Since it is halfway between Hiroshima and Okayama, it is also a good base for sightseeing in the Sanyo region.
