The Fukuyama area has a beautiful nostalgic atmosphere along the Seto Inland Sea, including Tomonoura, where everlasting lights and wild geese trees from the Edo period still remain. This scenic area is home to Japan's first national park.
Fukuyama and Tomonoura are home to such tourist attractions as the Tomonotsu Museum, Tomonoura Tide Waiting Port, Ryoma's hidden room and Masuya Seiwemon's house, the three-generation theme park Miroku no Sato, Fukuzenji Temple, Ota Family Residence, Tomonoura History and Folklore Museum, Irohamaru Exhibition Hall, Numana Shrine, and Fukuyama Castle.
